As well as training, competing and livery, we offer a personal service for selling genuine horses of all levels and take great care to place each horse in the right home. We have a 100% record
of selling all horses that have come to us usually within 6 weeks of advertising using this web site, horsequest and The Horse and Hound as well as utilising
considerable contacts. Depending on fitness and level of training we usually school and prepare a new horse for around 4 weeks before advertising and
will take horses out to competitions when they are ready.
Our selling livery is very competitive at only £95 plus a typical 10 percent commission on sale and includes all riding, competing and care with the only extras being
standard costs of farrier/vet fees, advertising and competition costs. Isobel also offers very good rates for owners wishing to have their horse produced and
competed in British Eventing with or without the intention of selling the horse at some point in the future.
Please read below some testimonials of happy owners, sellers and buyers.
Testimonial from Holly Whitcombe who bought her cheeky connie mare Dippy to me this summer to school and find the right home for
Hi Isobel, Happy Xmas. Dips won her first hunter trial at Bicton in October in a class of 50 entries. Megan absolutely loves her. Its all down to you and the work you did that she has such a lovely home now and is competing and pony clubbing. She can still have the odd little buck now and then! Thank you so much.
Testimonial from Suzie and Kieron Marston, owners of Bellindene Archdene who Isobel competes at BE100 level

|
We have known Isobel as owners for two years, during which time she has proved to have a very hard working, reliable and straightforward approach to caring for and training different types and temperaments of horses and ponies.
We have thoroughly enjoyed being one of Isobel’s owners and she has achieved excellent British Eventing results with one of our ponies. She is a very dedicated and talented rider and her sympathetic and professional approach has certainly paid off. Starting from scratch last year, this year he qualified for two British Eventing Regional Finals and achieved 2nd place event pony in the British Connemara Pony Society performance award scheme 2009. He currently competes at BE100 level and the results speak for themselves. |
Testimonial From Sonia Chapman who bought Trela a stunning 4 year old mare by Mill Law who I had for 10 weeks to back and start in the Spring 2009.
"Trela is a well started young horse, who has been produced slowly and is not at all wary of people moving while riding her. This has just enhanced her forward thinking nature, which means that within a short time I was able to hack her in company or by herself. Thank you for allowing me to buy just a great young horse and I hope we will have a bright future together."
Update October 2009. " I am absolutely thrilled with Trela and she has started to really love her jumping. I took Trela cross country schooling for the first time last week and she was absolutely amazing jumping everything, so very excited about next year now".

Testimonial from Anira Pidgeon- Owner of Benvolio, Aragon (sold as a 4 year September 2007) Dundee's Chameleon, Archidamus and Trela (sold summer 2009)

Ben being backed as a 4 year old
|
"I met Isobel in early 2005 when she bought a youngster from me. I was impressed with the quiet but firm way she rode and made the decision to send Benvolio to her for backing in 2006 as a four year
I have to say that Ben is one of the most difficult characters that I have ever come across and in the wrong hands could quite easily have become a dangerous horse. Isobel has had never ending patience with him throughout knowing when he could and couldn`t be pushed and I have respected her decisions totally."
|
The initial aim was to back and sell him but both Isobel and I realised his huge potential in a very short time. We have just completed his first full eventing season with a lovely pre novice run at Aldon,Somerset. His attitude was so relaxed and confident and it is all down to Isobel and the fabulous way she has produced him.
I breed competition youngstock and without question they all now go to Isobel for backing, schooling, assessment or whatever they need. I am able to relax knowing they will be produced and competed to the best of their ability and that they are also happy and safe in their work."

Testimonial from Rebel's Owner who sold within a few days of advertising

|
"Mirah Kilgobben Rebel – a stunning looking supremely talented fully papered (and attituded) connemara who grew too big to be a pony! My daughter was too poorly to ride him and my son not quite ready for him so I had to find something for him to do for 2006 – in the hopes that my son would be ready for him in 2007.
I found Isobel by chance through an appealing advertisement – checked her record and references and without even meeting her had Rebel delivered to her yard in January 2006. I could not have made a better decision.
Isobel has worked extremely hard with Rebel on the flat work which was (and is) his weakest phase, but from January until the end of the season she has persevered and her efforts were rewarded with a magnificent test at 2 star level at Weston Park in October.
Isobel has kept in constant touch about Rebel, his health and his progress and I have followed her recommendations on what level he should be doing – and she has always been right; and she has taken it slowly – not wishing to push herself or the horse until she felt it was the right time to notch up a level.
|
I would not hesitate to send another horse to her for bringing on, re-educating or just competing and I shall hope to seek her guidance and assistance in finding a horse for my son as we have now sold Rebel.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Isobel to an owner or prospective purchaser, she has always been completely straightforward with me and it has been a delight (and a rather refreshing change in the equestrian world) to deal with someone like this. I would be more than happy to speak to anyone to confirm everything I have said".
Merna Merrett November 2006
True to her word Merna sent me another lovely horse, Kernal Clover, at the beginning of 2008 who I produced and competed very successfully at Prenovice before selling in may as planned.

Indecisive 10 year old Chesnut Mare purchased by Geeta Verrel
I purchased Indie from Isobel at South West Eventing August 05. The trial facilities were fantastic and Isobel was very helpful. Indie has proved exactly as described and Isobel had obviously put considerable time in training her. She is a lovely mare and a great jumper. Already we have been placed 2nd in a British Novice and 5th in out first one day event. Just last weekend she went brilliantly at Pontispool Hunter Trial. I would definiteley recommend South West Eventing for anyone looking for a genuine, well schooled horse at a sensible price.
Geeta and Indie have had a very successful 2006 season with many high placings at BE Prenovice level and BSJA including qualifying for the British Novice Championships. After 2 1/2 successful years Geeta has sold Indie as a lovely eventing schoolmistress and bought her next young horse in the summer of 2008 for training with Isobel.

Kir Royal 6 year old Chesnut mare sold on behalf of Stuart Mathews August 2006

Kiri winning at Cheltenham BE90 finishing on her dressage of 29. |
"I found Isobel's site via eventriders.com as I was looking for someone to compete and sell our chestnut mare on our behalf. When I met Isobel we found her to be extremely friendly, honest and easy to deal with.I was immediatelty impressed by Isobel's professionalism, facilities, and her own track record at both competion level and in selling good quality horses. Not only did she offer us the best 'selling livery package' we also felt she takes particular care in selling horses to the most suitable people.
From the time we delivered Kir Royal(Kiri) we were informed regularly with updates on how her schooling was progressing.Isobel had only had Kiri two weeks when she won her Intro class at Cheltenham One Day Event with a 29 double clear. We had a fantastic day at Cheltenham with Isobel,Kiri was turned out superbly, and it was evident the amount of work Isobel had put into the mare.
When Isobel felt it appropriate to advertise Kiri she dealt with the adverts, all the phone calls (there were lots!),and eventually the vetting which meant the process was easy and totally stress free for us.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Isobel to anyone whether they were buying a horse, looking to sell a horse or looking for a very capable rider to produce and event their horse to a very high standard.Had we not sold our mare so quickly I am sure Isobel would have progressed Kiri through the grades in no time at all."
Stuart Mathews September 2006

Kir Royal is now enjoying considerable success with new owner Jenny Streek who travelled from Kent for training with Isobel in the summer of 2007. Their most recent result is a 5th place in the PNP at Tweseldown September 2008.
